Sharks' Michael Misa: Nets lone goal in loss
Misa scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Senators.
Misa is picking up steam with three goals and an assist over his last six games. The 19-year-old continues to work in a second-line role in the absence of Alexander Wennberg (upper body). Misa has seven points, 17 shots on net, eight hits and a minus-5 rating over 15 appearances this season, a scoring pace identical to what yielded him 21 points in 45 games as a rookie in 2025-26.

Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Gives up four goals Saturday
Nedeljkovic stopped 30 of 34 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Senators. Ottawa's fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Nedeljkovic struggled to contain Ottawa's attack and allowed three goals in the second period as San Jose fell behind 4-1. Despite making 30 saves, the veteran finished with an .882 save percentage and suffered his third loss over his last four appearances. His workload continues to offer fantasy upside, but San Jose's defensive inconsistency makes him a risky option outside favorable matchups.

Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: In goal Saturday
Nedeljkovic will start Saturday's home game against Ottawa, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Nedeljkovic surrendered five goals on 34 shots in last Saturday's 6-4 loss to Boston. He has a 3-1-1 record, a 2.88 GAA and a .903 save percentage in five appearances this season. Ottawa (8-5-1) is tied for 19th in the league with 3.00 goals per game in the 2026-27 campaign.

Sharks' Joey Muldowney: Three points in Friday's loss
Muldowney scored a goal and added two assists in UConn's 5-4 loss to Merrimack College on Friday.
Muldowney doubled his point total for the year with this effort. He's now at three goals, three assists and a minus-1 rating over seven games. This is his senior year of college, and he's had some ups and downs over the years. Muldowney is a Sharks prospect, and it's unclear if he fits in the organization's long-term plans.

Sharks' Mason Marchment: One of each Thursday
Marchment scored a goal on three shots and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Marchment helped out on a Will Smith goal to start the comeback before ending it himself with the go-ahead tally at 10:50 of the third period. This was Marchment's first multi-point effort of the season. The 31-year-old winger is filling a versatile role for the Sharks, shifting around the lines as necessary in an attempt to spark the offense. He has four goals, two assists, 26 shots on net, 19 hits, 10 PIM, seven blocked shots and a minus-9 rating across 14 appearances this season.

Sharks' Will Smith: Erases deficit in comeback win
Smith scored twice, including once on the power play, in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Smith had the Sharks' first two goals, erasing a 2-0 deficit. This was his first multi-point effort since Opening Night versus the Panthers. Smith had been bumped down to the second line recently, but a reunion with Macklin Celebrini on the top line was the catalyst for this comeback win. Smith has six goals, four assists, 38 shots on net and a minus-7 rating across 14 appearances this season.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Steady in win
Askarov stopped 23 of 25 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
It took a third-period comeback, but the Sharks were able to reward Askarov for a good performance. He's allowed just seven goals on 139 shots over his last four outings, so he's really unfortunate to be 2-2-0 in that span. Askarov has a 4-5-0 record, 3.01 GAA and .900 save percentage across nine outings on the year. He should continue to see most of the starts, though Alex Nedeljkovic has done a decent job over five appearances in the backup role. The Sharks' next game is a matinee at home versus the banged-up Senators on Saturday.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Starting against Vancouver
Askarov will start Thursday's home game against the Canucks, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Askarov hasn't gotten much offensive support over the past week and a half, as he's gone 1-2-0 across his last three starts despite posting a 1.68 GAA and .956 save percentage during that time. The Canucks have logged 3.07 goals per game to begin the regular season, which ranks 16th in the NHL.

Sharks' Libor Hajek: Called up Wednesday
Hajek was recalled from AHL San Jose on Wednesday.
Hajek was sent down ahead of the 2026-27 regular season, but he'll rejoin the NHL club to provide additional depth after Luca Cagnoni was sent down Wednesday. Hajek hasn't appeared in a regular-season game at the NHL level since the 2022-23 campaign, when he was with the Rangers.

Sharks' Luca Cagnoni: Sent down Wednesday
Cagnoni was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Wednesday.
Cagnoni made the Sharks' Opening Night roster following an impressive training camp, and he's recorded a goal, an assist, 11 blocked shots, four PIM and a hit while averaging 17:29 of ice time over nine appearances. However, he had appeared in just two of the team's last six games and should have more consistent opportunities to make an impact in the minors.

Sharks' Filip Bystedt: Up from minors
Bystedt was called up by the Sharks on Friday, per Max Miller of Sharks Hockey Digest.
Bystedt has four goals and eight points in eight appearances with AHL San Jose in 2026-27. The 22-year-old was similarly dominant offensively in the AHL during the 2025-26 regular season with 22 goals and 60 points in 65 outings, but he hasn't made his NHL debut yet. It's possible Bystedt will get that chance Thursday versus Vancouver, but that hasn't been announced.

Sharks' Igor Chernyshov: Lands on injured reserve
Chernyshov (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The Sharks announced over the weekend that Chernyshov is considered week-to-week, so it isn't very surprising to see him land on injured reserve. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but Colin Graf remains a candidate to see an increased role for San Jose in Chernyshov's absence.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Placed on injured reserve
Wennberg (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Wennberg has been sidelined for over a week due to his upper-body injury, and his placement on injured reserve isn't particularly surprising after the Sharks announced last week that the 32-year-old is considered week-to-week. It's not yet clear when Wennberg will be able to return to game action, but his move to injured reserve will allow the Sharks to call up some additional depth.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Gets no help in loss
Askarov stopped 38 of 39 shots in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Sabres. The second goal was an empty-netter.
Askarov did his part, but the Sharks' defense left him pretty busy and the offense failed to support him. He's faced at least 31 shots in three straight outings, which suggests the team's defense needs to step up to cut down on the traffic directed at Askarov's net. The 24-year-old now has a 3-5-0 record with a 3.13 GAA and an .898 save percentage across eight games. He'll have an easier matchup ahead when the Sharks host the Canucks on Thursday.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Facing Sabres
Askarov will protect the home net against Buffalo on Tuesday, according to Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.
Askarov is coming off a 41-save performance in Thursday's 6-2 win over Ottawa. He has gone 3-4-0 this season with a 3.44 GAA and an .883 save percentage in seven appearances. Buffalo (4-4-3) is tied for 23rd in the league with 2.82 goals per game this campaign.
