LOOK: Pitt makes script logo official, unveils sharp new uniforms
After partially returning in 2014, the Pitt-script logo is fully back and all over the team's new uniforms

Pitt officially unveiled its new uniforms on Wednesday night. They might be new, but they feature a logo that should look familiar.
The Pitt script -- the primary logo from 1973-96 -- has officially and fully reemerged.

"We are excited to make the full transition back to the script logo," said athletic director Scott Barnes in a statement, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "Not only will this move help unify our branding efforts, it also gives us an opportunity to celebrate the amazing history of Pitt Athletics. Wednesday's event will give Panther fans an opportunity to see some impressive Pitt apparel as well as some of the other exciting improvements we currently have underway."
As the Post-Gazette covered in its story, the script logo first re-appeared in 2014, finding a spot on the school's football helmets. That came under the direction of former athletic director Steve Pederson. When Barnes was hired to replace Pederson in April 2015, he decided to get rid of the block logo entirely.
Finally, on Tuesday, the script logo made its return as the official mark of every Pitt sport.
