The move corresponds with the Chargers signing center Josh Kaltenberger to the practice squad. McLachlan has spent time with the Chargers and Bengals on their respective squads this season, and the 2024 sixth-rounder will aim to catch on with a team in need of depth at tight end.

McLachlan (undisclosed) was hosted by the Chargers for a workout Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McLachlan was let go by the Bengals in early September after reaching an injury settlement with the team. The tight end now appears to be back to full health, and he'll look to latch on with a team for the stretch run of the season.

Tanner McLachlan: Waived from IR
McLachlan (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve Friday by the Bengals, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
McLachlan -- who was let go with an injury settlement -- suited up for just two games as a rookie last season. The nature and severity of his injury have yet to be clarified, but this move opens up the possibility of McLachlan suiting up this season, once he's healthy.
