Magic's Anthony Black: Dishes out seven dimes
Black finished Friday's 121-114 loss to Chicago with 18 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals over 33 minutes.
Black finished second on the Magic in scoring behind Paolo Banchero's 31-point performance and led the way with seven assists. Black also continued his impressive play on the defensive end, racking up two steals in five of his last six matchups. Friday's showing is a strong start to the new month after averaging 25.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals in his last five games of December.

Magic's Anthony Black: Game-high 27 points Monday
Black accumulated 27 points (9-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Monday's 107-106 loss to the Raptors.
Black came out firing after halftime, scoring 16 of his game-high 27 points in the third quarter. The third-year guard has started each of the Magic's last nine games and has given Orlando a much-needed boost in the absences of Jalen Suggs (hip) and Franz Wagner (ankle). Over that nine-game span, Black has averaged 21.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 threes and 1.2 steals over 34.4 minutes per game.

Magic's Anthony Black: Explodes for career-high 38 points
Black recorded 38 points (14-24 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 3-6 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two steals over 30 minutes during Saturday's 127-126 win over Denver.
Paolo Banchero didn't have his best game and was limited to 12 points on 6-for-13 shooting, but Black stepped up for the Magic and delivered a career-best scoring mark in this tight one-point victory. Black has been on a tear of late and has reached the 20-point mark in five of his previous six outings, a stretch in which he's averaging 24.1 points per game.

Magic's Anthony Black: Paces Orlando in loss
Black recorded 24 points (8-17 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block across 36 minutes in Friday's 120-105 loss to the Hornets.
With Franz Wagner (ankle) and Jalen Suggs (hip) remaining sidelined, Black impressed yet again. The 21-year-old guard led Orlando in scoring and three-pointers made, finishing with 20-plus points for the fourth time in his last five outings. The third-year pro also tied the team-high marks in assists and steals, and he has racked up multiple swipes in back-to-back games.

Magic's Anthony Black: Hits for 22 points in win
Black produced 22 points (8-21 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and two steals over 33 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 win over the Trail Blazers.
It's unclear how long Black's run of production will last, but the eventual returns of Franz Wagner (ankle) and Jalen Suggs (hip) will obviously hurt his fantasy value. The increase for Black is easy to view, as he's averaged 17.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.0 steals over six games since joining the first unit.

Magic's Anthony Black: Stays in the mix during defeat
Black registered 19 points (8-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block across 31 minutes during Monday's 120-97 loss to the Warriors.
Black will be a valuable piece of the puzzle as the team awaits the return of Jalen Suggs (hip) and Franz Wagner (ankle). The Arkansas product is on pace to crush his previous season averages over his first two years in Orlando, averaging 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals over 29 games this season.

Magic's Anthony Black: Continues steady production in win
Black closed Saturday's 128-127 overtime win over the Jazz with 20 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds and five assists over 40 minutes.
Jalen Suggs' (hip) absence has allowed Black to log four consecutive starts, and his standout production might summon an adjustment in the rotation upon Suggs' return. Franz Wagner's return is still at least a week away, so the team could conceivably run with Suggs and Black in the backcourt and shift Desmond Bane to the wing, a position where he is usually comfortable.

Magic's Anthony Black: Offensive effort in loss
Black finished Thursday's 126-115 loss to the Nuggets with 22 points (8-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds, three assists and two steals in 37 minutes.
Black had a subpar outing in terms of rebounds but notched his best scoring tally since Nov. 25 while making his third consecutive start. The young guard has been given a more meaningful role in the absence of Franz Wagner (ankle) and Jalen Suggs (hip), and that could continue to be the case for a few more games. Black should keep improving his season numbers of 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 29.0 minutes per game as long as he remains in this elevated role.

Magic's Anthony Black: Joining starting lineup
Black is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Franz Wagner is likely to miss multiple weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, so Black could have a fairly lengthy stay in the first unit. Black has averaged 15.0 points, 3.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks in 31.6 minutes per contest across four games as a starter this season.

Magic's Anthony Black: Double-double off bench
Black provided 14 points (6-16 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and one block across 30 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 106-100 loss to New York.
The third-year guard produced his first double-double of the season and the second of his career, as he continues to fill a key role in the Orlando backcourt. Over the last 11 games (two starts), Black has averaged 16.3 points, 5.0 boards, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 threes in 30.8 minutes a contest, but he could get a more consistent look in the starting five if Jalen Suggs (leg) winds up missing significant time after leaving Sunday's game early.

Magic's Anthony Black: Grabs seven boards vs. San Antonio
Black posted seven points (2-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds and five assists over 28 minutes during the Magic's 114-112 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday.
Black entered Wednesday's game having averaged 23.0 points on 53.1 percent shooting over his three prior outings. He wasn't able to carry that efficiency into Wednesday's contest, but he was active on the boards with seven rebounds, which was second most on the Magic behind Wendell Carter (nine). Black continues to play heavy minutes off the bench even with Jalen Suggs' minutes steadily increasing over the course of the regular season. Over his last 10 appearances, Black has averaged 15.4 points, 3.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.2 threes over 29.4 minutes per game.

Magic's Anthony Black: Nets 22 points with full line
Black contributed 22 points (8-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 34 minutes during Monday's 125-120 victory over Chicago.
Black got off to a slow start offensively in this one, contributing just four points on 1-of-4 shooting through the first half of action, but he completely flipped the script after halftime. His defense kept him in the game, and he finished with a stupendous plus-25 point differential. Black has been in a nice groove over the past eight games, posting averages of 18.1 points, 3.6 assists, 1.5 triples and 1.9 steals per contest during that span.

Magic's Anthony Black: Scores 16 points in win
Black produced 16 points (6-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals across 32 minutes during Friday's 112-109 victory over Detroit.
Black was unable to repeat the 31-point performance he delivered in the win over the 76ers on Tuesday. However, he still posted a solid overall line while recording at least three tallies in four of the five major categories. Black has been trending in the right direction of late and has scored in double digits in his last seven outings, averaging 17.6 points per game in that stretch.

Magic's Anthony Black: Records career high in blowout win
Black notched 31 points (12-17 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three assists, one rebound and one steal across 28 minutes in Tuesday's 144-103 win over the 76ers.
After starting Sunday's loss to Boston, the third-year guard retreated to the bench with Jalen Suggs back in action. Still, Black caught fire Tuesday and led all players in points, scoring 20 of his career-high 31 points in the first half. The 21-year-old continues to provide a spark for the Magic whether in the first or second unit, and he has scored in double figures in six consecutive contests.

Magic's Anthony Black: Back to bench Tuesday
Black is not in the Magic's starting lineup against the 76ers on Tuesday.
Black will revert to a bench role Tuesday due to the return of Jalen Suggs (knee) from a one-game absence. Black started Sunday's 138-129 loss to the Celtics, when he finished with 14 points (4-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal over 28 minutes. Regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench, Black has been a regular contributor in the Magic's rotation this season.

Magic's Anthony Black: Starting nod Sunday
Black is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Celtics.
Black will make his fourth start of the season in place of Jalen Suggs (knee), who is resting Sunday. In his three previous starts, Black averaged 15.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks in 33.0 minutes per contest.

Magic's Anthony Black: Leads second unit in win
Black provided 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four assists, three steals, one rebound and one block over 29 minutes during Saturday's 133-121 win over the Knicks.
Black put up single-digit shot attempts for a second consecutive contest, though he still led the bench in points while reaching double figures for the fourth game in a row. The 21-year-old guard continues to provide value on both ends of the floor, leading all players in steals Saturday. He has tallied multiple steals in each of his last three games, totaling nine swipes during that span.

Magic's Anthony Black: Tallies four swipes
Black contributed 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and four steals over 29 minutes during Thursday's 129-101 win over the Clippers.
Black turned in a well-rounded final line off the bench, scoring in double figures while contributing across the board. He racked up a team-high four steals on the way to a victory, a mark he also reached Nov. 7 against Boston. Black continues to find ways to be productive even after the return of Jalen Suggs.

Magic's Anthony Black: Still productive off bench
Black posted 21 points (8-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals over 33 minutes during the Magic's 121-113 win over the Warriors on Tuesday.
Even with Jalen Suggs returning from a one-game absence to supplant Black from the starting lineup Tuesday, the latter still ended up playing meaningful minutes off the bench. Black led the Magic with a plus-18 point differential, and his 21 points were the second most on the team behind Desmond Bane (23). Black has established a consistent role for himself and should continue to see reasonable playing time regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench. In nine games (two starts) since Nov. 1, he has averaged 10.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals over 27.1 minutes per game.

Black won't start Tuesday's game against the Warriors, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
With Jalen Suggs returning from a one-game absence due to a groin issue, Black will slide to the second unit. Over his last five outings off the bench, the 21-year-old guard has averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 23.8 minutes per contest.
