Thomas was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Thomas was called up for his big-league debut Sept. 1 but will head back to the minors after he posted a .267/.313/.267 slash line and a 37.5 percent strikeout rate in 10 games. Conner Capel, who was claimed off waivers earlier in September, was promoted in a corresponding move.
