The Athletics purchased Thomas' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Thomas lost his spot on the 40-man roster over the offseason but has earned his way back after batting .308/.367/.576 with 17 home runs and three stolen bases with Vegas. The 28-year-old is capable of handling all three outfield spots and could see some starts against right-handed pitching.
