Austin Adams: Elects free agency

Adams (forearm) declined an outright assignment to Triple-A El Paso and elected free agency Thursday.

Adams landed on the injured list in April after he made two appearances for San Diego and missed the rest of the season. He underwent surgery to repair his right flexor tendon in August, and it's unclear if he's expected to be fully recovered in time for spring training.
