Rivero (shoulder) will be evaluated by doctors Saturday to get a better understanding of his condition.
Rivero first encountered soreness in his shoulder while pitching in Venezuela this winter, and the Braves remain hopeful he will only need a couple weeks of rest before returning. The Rule 5 draft pick was cleared to begin playing catch this past week, but the medical evaluation should provide a better sense of the situation. The right-hander is an interesting prospect; he posted a 2.13 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 43 games with Triple-A Iowa last season.
