Berry's contract was selected from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
A 32-year-old journeyman with only 342 career plate appearances in the majors under his belt, Berry hit .286/.375/.452 with two home runs and two steals in 10 games with Colorado Springs. Berry is 27-for-28 on stolen-base attempts in his big-league career. He can play center field and serves as another left-handed option off the bench, but his primary usage may come as a pinch runner late in games. Jonathan Villar and Keon Broxton should still see the bulk of the work in center field over the final four weeks of the season.
