Dean, who has been sidelined at Triple-A Memphis since mid-May with a broken hamate bone in his wrist, has resumed baseball activities at the Cardinals' spring-training site in Florida, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Following an early season demotion from St. Louis, Dean appeared in seven games for Memphis and hit .192 with a home run before being shut down with the injury. The 27-year-old outfielder should make it from Memphis' 7-day injured list before the end of the season, but he may not have enough time to make a case for a late-season call-up to St. Louis.
