Cubs' Ian Miller: Removed from 40-man roster

Miller was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Monday.

Miller was optioned to the Cubs' alternate training site Tuesday, and he'll now be off the 40-man roster after the team acquired Andrew Chafin from the Diamondbacks on Monday. The 28-year-old didn't log an at-bat during his time in the majors this year but hit .176 with one RBI over 17 at-bats with the Twins last year.
