Diamondbacks' Keury Mella: Designated for assignment

Mella was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Mella's contract was selected by Arizona on Tuesday, but he gave up six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two in 1.2 relief innings. His removal from the 40-man roster will make room for right-hander Noe Ramirez, whose contract was selected Friday.
