Joey Wendle: Released by Mets

The Mets released Wendle on Monday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Wendle cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and is now officially a free agent. The veteran utility infielder should be able to land a gig elsewhere, but he might have to go to the minor leagues for a while.
