Bard elected free agency Monday.
Bard will assess his options on the open market before deciding his next step, but if he elects to remain in affiliated ball heading into 2023, he may have to settle for a minor-league deal in free agency. The 31-year-old made nine relief appearances in the majors between the Yankees and Rays in 2022, logging a 1.80 ERA and 0.93 WHIP but an unremarkable 8:7 K:BB in 15 innings.
