Mets' Jesse Winker: Dealt to Mets

The Mets acquired Winker from the Nationals on Saturday in exchange for right-hander Tyler Stuart, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Winker will bolster the Mets' corner outfield depth and could see some action at designated hitter on the occasions that J.D. Martinez is getting rets. In Jeff McNeil and Brandon Nimmo, the Mets already have a pair of left-handed bats in the corner outfield, but McNeil could move back to the keystone to clear room in the outfield for Winker. After joining the Nationals on a one-year deal in February, Winker has hit .257 with 11 home runs, 14 steals, 51 runs and 45 RBI in 379 plate appearances.
