Givens struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over Pittsburgh.
The right-hander has posted saves in each of his last two appearances, and his scoreless streak is up to nine innings. Despite a 1.23 WHIP, one of the highest of his career, Givens has pitched to a 2.27 ERA across 35.2 innings between Colorado and Cincinnati this season. He's been immediately entrusted with a high-leverage role, and it appears he could join the likes of Heath Hembree, Lucas Sims and Amir Garrett in manager David Bell's closing committee.
