Tillo (elbow) began a rehab assignment with the Royals' AZL affiliate Tuesday.
Tillo is nearly a year removed from Tommy John surgery. He hadn't advanced beyond Double-A prior to the injury and had made just nine appearances at that level, so whether he ends up there or in Triple-A once fully healthy is not yet clear.
