The Tigers selected Hutchison's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Hutchison last appeared for Detroit on May 10, tossing a scoreless frame against Oakland. He was then designated for assignment, but later rejoined the club on a minor-league deal. Hutchison figures to serve as bullpen depth while with the Tigers.
