Gonzalez was designated for assignment by the Twins on Saturday following his start against the Rays, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Gonzalez lasted just four innings, giving up three runs on eight hits while striking out three batters. He now owns a 7.71 ERA through two starts this season and a 5.69 career mark, which makes him unlikely to get claimed off waivers.
