Twins' Chi Chi Gonzalez: Joins Minnesota

Gonzalez signed Sunday with the Twins on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to big-league spring training.

Minnesota will waste no time integrating Gonzalez into its Grapefruit League pitching schedule, as he's scheduled to start Monday's game against the Orioles. Though he's attending big-league camp, Gonzalez is expected to open the 2022 campaign as a member of the Triple-A St. Paul rotation. He spent the 2021 season in the Rockies organization, making 24 appearances (18 starts) with the big club and posting a 6.46 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 101.2 innings.
