Manager Tony La Russa said Sunday that he doesn't expect Robert (hip) to return for the White Sox's upcoming three-game series with the Royals, which runs from Tuesday through Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
La Russa wasn't willing to completely rule Robert out from making an appearance during the series with Kansas City, but the White Sox seemingly want the 23-year-old outfielder to pick up a few more at-bats at Triple-A Charlotte before reinstating him from the 60-day injured list. Through the first eight games of his rehab assignment that has included stops at Charlotte and High-A Winston-Salem, Robert has gone 8-for-25 with two doubles, one stolen base and a 4:7 BB:K.
