Yankees' Bubba Thompson: Dropped from 40-man

The Yankees designated Thompson for assignment Friday.

With the signing of Luke Weaver becoming official Friday, Thompson will lose his spot on the Yankees' 40-man roster. The 25-year-old Thompson registered nine hits in 53 major-league at-bats last season, and he slashed .256/.334/.391 across 302 plate appearances in Triple-A.
