  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Drives in three runs

Freeman went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Padres.

The veteran first baseman produced a second straight multi-hit performance with three singles, but he remains without an extra-base hit in his past 15 games. Freeman dealt with a knee issue earlier this month that caused him to miss a couple games, but he's started the past seven contests and seems mostly healthy despite the lack of pop in his bat.

  • Abimelec Ortiz 1B | WAS

Nationals' Abimelec Ortiz: Exiting starting nine

Ortiz is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Detroit.

Ortiz has been in and out of the Nationals' lineup this month, starting 10 of 18 games. It will be Andres Chaparro manning first base for the Nationals on Tuesday.

  • Nationals' Yohandy Morales: Cranks homer off bench

Morales went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Tigers.

With lefty Drew Sommers on the mound, Morales entered the game off the bench and launched an opposite-field, two-run homer in the eighth inning. The 24-year-old has hit well since being promoted at the start of September, going 11-for-36 (.306) with three homers, eight RBI, nine runs and a stolen base across 13 games. His playing time has been fairly sporadic, though, as Andres Chaparro and Abimelec Ortiz also compete for at-bats at first base and designated hitter.

  • Pavin Smith 1B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Delivers walk-off win

Smith entered as a pinch hitter and hit a walk-off, two-run home run in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Yankees.

Smith took Michael Fulmer deep in dramatic fashion, which helped snap the team's three-game losing streak and inched the Diamondbacks closer in the wild-card standings. It was Smith's second home run in three games. He usually finds himself in the starting lineup against right-handers but opened Saturday's contest on the bench against New York righty Cam Schlittler. Since having his contract selected from Triple-A Reno last week, Smith is 5-for-15 with three extra-base hits and four RBI through six games.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Padres' Ty France: Adds three hits in win

France went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Marlins.

France has carried a hot bat with multiple hits in six of his last eight games. He has also recorded an extra-base hit in six of those contests. France is batting .304 with an .893 OPS, 21 home runs, 70 RBI, 56 runs scored, 24 doubles, two triples and a stolen base over 126 contests this year and continues to operate as the Padres' primary first baseman.

  • Michael Busch 1B | CHC

Cubs' Michael Busch: Hits 20th home run Saturday

Busch went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Reds.

Busch hit his second home run in the last seven games during the sixth inning, which gives him 20 long balls for the season. The slugging first baseman now has three straight 20-homer campaigns, though he's taken a step back from 2025, when he launched 34 long balls during the regular season. Busch should continue to see ample playing time down the stretch as the Cubs battle for playoff positioning.

  • Pavin Smith 1B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Sitting down Saturday

Smith isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Smith will retreat to the bench Saturday after going 0-for-2 with a strikeout during Friday's contest. His absence will allow Jesus Sanchez to work as the designated hitter, batting eighth.

  • Pirates' Spencer Horwitz: Starting to get on track

Horwitz went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored Friday against the Royals.

Horwitz delivered a two-RBI single in the seventh inning to give the Pirates a lead they wouldn't relinquish. He has struggled significantly since returning in early August, as he's hit just .182 with 13 RBI and seven runs scored across 34 games. However, Horwitz has started to turn things around of late, hitting .333 with five RBI and three runs scored in his last seven contests.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Reaches 40-homer mark Friday

Olson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Astros.

Olson capped his three-hit night with a two-run homer off Enyel De Los Santos in the ninth inning, extending Atlanta's lead to 6-2. The blast was his 40th of the season, making him the fifth player in franchise history with multiple 40-homer campaigns. Olson also singled and scored ahead of Michael Harris' two-run homer in the fourth as Atlanta clinched a postseason berth with the victory.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Padres' Ty France: Caps rally with blast

France went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run Friday's 8-2 win over the Marlins.

France had gone 10 games without a homer, but he collected six doubles in that span. The infielder muscled up for a long ball to cap the Padres' six-run rally in the fifth inning Friday. On the year, France is batting .301 with an .887 OPS, 21 homers, 69 RBI, 55 runs scored, 23 doubles, two triples and one stolen base over 125 contests.
