  • Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA

Angels' Oswald Peraza: Gaining foothold at 3B

Peraza will start at third base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

He'll stick in the lineup for a fifth consecutive game, after going 3-for-12 with a walk, two hit-by-pitches and a run scored in the prior four contests. The last three of Peraza's starts have come at third base, where he appears to have supplanted the struggling Denzer Guzman as the Angels' preferred option for the time being.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Back from concussion

The Royals activated Massey from the 7-day concussion injured list Wednesday.

Massey was injured Aug. 25 against Toronto when he fell down making a throw to first base and missed the past six games. The 28-year-old is slashing .276/.310/.444 with 11 home runs, 44 RBI, 46 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 19:62 BB:K across 366 trips to the plate this season and should return to the large side of a platoon at second base now that he's recovered.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Athletics' Jeff McNeil: Goes yard in loss

McNeil went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a hit-by-pitch in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Rangers.

McNeil blasted a two-run homer in the ninth inning, though the Athletics were unable to mount a full comeback. The veteran has been swinging a hot bat for an extended stretch, slashing .346/.372/.500 with four homers, 23 RBI, 17 runs and six stolen bases in 37 games since the All-Star break. On the year, McNeil is hitting .266/.316/.367 with seven homers, 49 RBI, 40 runs and seven stolen bases in 122 contests.

  • Kody Clemens 2B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Slaps 24th home run

Clemens went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 15-2 rout of the Tigers.

Clemens put Minnesota on the board with a solo homer in the first inning, giving him 24 long balls on the season and three over his last five games. Across his last 15 contests, the 30-year-old is hitting .321 with 14 RBI. Clemens owns a .768 OPS across 492 plate appearances this season.

  • Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Knocks homer in win

Chisholm went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Angels.

Chisholm had just two homers over 27 games in August, batting .244 during the month. He's off to a positive start in September, having already matched his total of three-hit games from last month. The second baseman is batting .232 with a .719 OPS, 19 homers, 55 RBI, 67 runs scored, 16 doubles, three triples and 40 stolen bases across 130 contests this season.

  • Angel Genao 2B | CLE

Guardians' Angel Genao: Belts pinch-hit homer Tuesday

Genao went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer during Tuesday's 6-1 win over Toronto.

Genao pinch hit for Travis Bazzana in the seventh inning, and the former answered the call by taking Joe Mantiply deep to left field for a two-run homer. It was the second major-league homer of Genao's career, with the first taking place Aug. 8 against the White Sox. Since making his major-league debut Aug. 5, he has gone 20-for-76 (.263) with five RBI, five extra-base hits, one steal and 10 runs scored across 22 games.

  • Athletics' Joshua Kuroda-Grauer: Transferred to 60-day IL

The Athletics transferred Kuroda-Grauer (groin) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Kuroda-Grauer will now not be eligible for activation until late September, and it's possible his season is over after he had surgery in late July to address a ruptured testicle. The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster.

  • Cameron Cauley 2B | TEX

Rangers' Cam Cauley: Returns to majors

The Rangers recalled Cauley from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Cauley put up a .626 OPS with one homer in 28 games for the Rangers earlier this season in his first big-league stint. The 23-year-old can handle shortstop, second base, third base and center field, but even factoring in that versatility, his role could be limited in September.

  • Red Sox's Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Back from IL

The Red Sox reinstated Kiner-Falefa (forearm) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The 31-year-old has been sidelined since mid-June due to a stress reaction in his right forearm, but he's rejoining the Red Sox with MLB rosters expanding to 28 players Tuesday. Kiner-Falefa has a .277/.344/.361 slash line with two homers and seven steals through 47 games this season and should work as a utility infielder down the stretch.

  • Vaughn Grissom 1B | LAA

Angels' Vaughn Grissom: Plates four runs in victory

Grissom went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and four RBI in a 10-1 win over the Yankees on Monday.

Grissom put the Angels on the board with a run-scoring single in the third inning. He added an RBI on a fielder's choice in the sixth and finished his night with a two-run double in the eighth. It was Grissom's sixth performance this season of three or more hits, and it was his first multi-hit effort since he slugged two homers Aug. 25 versus Cleveland. The 25-year-old ended August on a high note, but he didn't have a great month overall, batting just .212 with two homers, six doubles, 12 RBI, one stolen base and a 3:24 BB:K over 26 contests.
