  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Astros' Isaac Paredes: Reaches 20-homer mark

Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners.

Paredes missed two months due to a right hamstring tear suffered in mid-July against the Mariners. He's gone 2-for-11 with a walk and six strikeouts over three games since his return to the lineup, though he is being eased back in as the designated hitter. For the season, Paredes is up to 20 homers while adding 51 RBI, 52 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and a .257/.356/.470 slash line over 97 contests. He has now reached the 20-homer mark in three of the last four seasons.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Tossed from Sunday's loss

Vientos went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Nationals before being ejected from the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Vientos was run from the game after he expressed his displeasure with a third-strike call after he appeared to check his swing. The 25-year-old isn't expected to face any further punishment stemming from his ejection, but it adds to what's been a frustrating finish to the season. Vientos will head into Tuesday's series opener versus the Cubs having gone 2-for-20 with eight strikeouts over his last seven games.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Knocks pinch-hit home run

Lewis went 1-for-1 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over Cleveland.

Lewis did not crack the starting lineup Sunday but put the game out of reach with his three-run shot in the seventh inning. It was his first home run since Sep. 8 when he went deep twice against the Angels. He's now slashing .241/.289/.399 with 30 extra-base hits and 51 RBI through 380 plate appearances.

  • Matt Shaw SS | CHC

Cubs' Matt Shaw: Expected back Tuesday

Shaw (personal) is expected to be back with the Cubs by Tuesday's series opener versus the Mets, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Shaw was absent from the lineup Sunday against the Reds, which is now understood to be the result of him attending the funeral of a friend. The 23-year-old has struggled to a .200 average with one home run, seven RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base over 55 at-bats in 18 games in September.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Hitting third Sunday

Caminero is starting at third base and batting third Sunday against the Red Sox.

Caminero, who missed a couple games with a back issue before returning Saturday, is batting .284/.333/.597 with five home runs and a 16.7 percent strikeout rate in 18 games this month.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Receiving afternoon off

Moncada is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Moncada will rest for the day game after he went 0-for-6 with an RBI in the first two games of the series at Coors Field. Oswald Peraza will replace Moncada at third base and will bat seventh.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Ends up starting, exiting early

Arenado was a late addition to the starting nine for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. He didn't play an inning in the field and didn't take an at-bat before departing.

Arenado's inclusion in the starting nine was merely ceremonial, as the Cardinals had him get introduced to the Busch Stadium crowd for the final time this season before removing him before the first inning got underway. Nolan Gorman stepped in at third base to replace Arenado, who is under contract through 2027 but could be a trade candidate this offseason.

  • Javier Sanoja SS | MIA

Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Playing time on downswing

Sanoja is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Sanoja had made eight consecutive starts while moving between three different spots (second base, third base and left field) from Sept. 11 through this past Thursday, but he now finds himself on the bench for the third contest in a row. With Miami recently returning Connor Norby, Graham Pauley and Dane Myers from the injured list, Sanoja could be relegated to a short-side platoon role heading into the final week of the season.

  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Seeing semi-frequent playing time

Pauley will start at third base and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Though he doesn't have a direct path to an everyday role at any one position, Pauley has now picked up starts in four of the Marlins' six games since being reinstated from the injured list Monday. He's seen action at three different spots in the infield, making two starts at third base and one apiece at second base and first base.

  • Cam Devanney 3B | PIT

Pirates' Cam Devanney: Losing out on regular at-bats

Devanney is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Devanney's brief run as the Pirates' primary option at third base appears to be over. He'll be on the bench for the sixth time in seven games while the Pirates go with Jared Triolo at the hot corner, Nick Gonzales at shortstop and Nick Yorke at second base.
