Twins' Royce Lewis: Beginning assignment Saturday
Lewis (knee) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Lewis has been on the injured list since last Saturday due to a sprained left knee. The Twins haven't revealed how long they plan to keep the 26-year-old in the minors, but the fact that he's been cleared to play in games just a week after suffering the injury could point to him returning when eligible Tuesday.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Officially placed on IL
The Twins placed Lewis (knee) on the 10-day injured list Saturday.
Lewis suffered a left knee sprain while playing in Thursday's game, and although the Twins haven't announced a firm return timeline for the 26-year-old, he'll be forced to sit until at least April 21. Tristan Gray will likely receive the bulk of starts at third base while Lewis is out, and Ryan Kreidler will come up from Triple-A St. Paul to provide depth.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Bound for injured list
The Twins will place Lewis on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left knee sprain, Audra Martin of FanDuel Sports Network North reports.
Lewis didn't play Friday after tweaking his knee in Thursday's contest, and he'll now officially sit out for at least another 10 days. Tristan Gray started at the hot corner Friday and will likely continue to do so until Lewis returns.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Grabbing seat Friday
Lewis is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Toronto.
Lewis will get a day to rest after starting all four games during the Twins' sweep of the Tigers earlier in the week. Tristan Gray is getting a start at third base in Lewis' stead.

Twins' Royce Lewis: On base three times in win
Lewis went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Tigers.
Lewis posted his first multi-hit effort of the season, and he's now walked seven times over his last five games. The improvements for getting on base should help him keep a starting role at third base. Lewis is batting just .219 on the season, but he's getting on base at a .390 clip thanks to an 8:11 BB:K across 11 games. He's added two home runs, two stolen bases, eight RBI, six runs scored and two doubles through 41 plate appearances.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Not in lineup Sunday
Lewis is not starting Sunday versus Tampa Bay.
Lewis will open the game on the bench after starting Minnesota's first eight games of the campaign. He's batting just .167 so far, though he's belted two homers, collected five RBI and stolen one base. Tristan Gray is getting a start at the hot corner in Lewis' stead.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Goes deep in Saturday's win
Lewis went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Orioles.
Lewis hit eighth in the order for the second straight game to open the season, but he provided the big hit for the Twins, driving a Kyle Bradish sinker over the left-field wall to give Minnesota a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old's potential run production could be a bit limited at the bottom of the order, but he'll likely move his way up if he can stay healthy and productive.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Bats eighth, lifted for PH
Lewis hit eighth in the batting order and went 0-for-2 and grounded into a double play in Thursday's 2-1 loss against Baltimore. He was also hit by a pitch before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning with the tying run on base.
Lewis struggled during spring training by hitting .133 (6 for 45) with two home runs and a .449 OPS. The third baseman was once thought to be a future star who would hit in the heart of the order, but new manager Derek Shelton moved him lower in the lineup and didn't trust him in a key spot in the ninth inning. It shows that Lewis has a way to go to get back to his promising 2023 season, when he clubbed 15 homers and had a .920 OPS in 58 games.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Slumping this spring
Lewis is hitting just .091 (3-for-33) with two home runs this spring. He has two walks and 11 strikeouts.
Lewis appears healthy after missing a few days due to tightness in his side which is likely the most important aspect of his spring. However, it would be nice to see him get on a roll the final few days of spring training. Still, he's set to be the everyday starter at third base.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Back in action Tuesday
Lewis (side) is starting at third base and batting leadoff in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays.
The third baseman has been sidelined the past few days after some side tightness cropped up last week, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup after having an MRI come back clean and going through live batting practice Sunday. Given Lewis' extensive injury history, fantasy managers should still keep on eye on his health status throughout spring training.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Should return this week
Lewis (side) participated in a session of live batting practice Sunday and could rejoin Minnesota's Grapefruit League lineup as early as Tuesday, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.
The 26-year-old was scratched from the lineup last Thursday due to right side tightness, but he had an MRI come back negative and resumed baseball activities over the weekend. Lewis had injury troubles once again in 2025 with hamstring and quadriceps issues, but he still played in a career-high 106 games. The side injury appears to be a minor concern, but any spring health problems are worth keeping an eye on given Lewis' injury history.

Twins' Royce Lewis: MRI on side comes back negative
An MRI on Lewis' right side came back negative, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Lewis had to be scratched from Thursday's Grapefruit League lineup against the Pirates due to tightness in his side, but he has managed to sidestep a serious injury. The Twins are likely to keep Lewis out of game action for at least a few days to be safe, but he should be considered day-to-day.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Scratched with right side tightness
Lewis was scratched from Thursday's Grapefruit League lineup against the Pirates with tightness in his right side, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Lewis suffered the injury while running the bases during pregame warmups. He was scratched "out of abundance of caution," according to the team. Consider Lewis day-to-day for now, but it's yet another injury for the third baseman. Lewis appeared in a career-high 106 regular-season games last season, slashing a disappointing .237/.283/.388 with 13 home runs, 52 RBI, 36 runs scored, 12 stolen bases and a 25:80 BB:K across 403 plate appearances.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Works with personal hitting coach
Lewis worked with a personal hitting coach, Jeremy Isenhower, this offseason on simplifying his pre-pitch mechanics, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.
Isenhower was recommended to Lewis by Bobby Witt and former teammate Jorge Polanco, and Lewis made six different trips to Houston this offseason in order to work with Isenhower. The hope is that, by quieting his pre-pitch movement, Lewis should be able to improve his pitch recognition, swing decisions and quality of contact. After slashing .307/.364/.549 over 70 games in his first two major-league seasons, Lewis has hit a disappointing .235/.288/.416 in 188 contests since the start of the 2024 campaign. He'll be Minnesota's everyday third baseman again in 2026.
