Guardians' Robert Arias: Shut down after ankle surgery
Arias underwent surgery June 5 to address a dislocated and fractured left ankle, SI.com reports.
The Guardians haven't provided a timeline for Arias' return, but given the nature of his injury, it wouldn't be surprising if he missed most, if not all, of what's left of the season. The 19-year-old outfielder produced a .291/.397/.462 slash line with five home runs and 21 stolen bases across 190 plate appearances in 43 games with Single-A Hill City before landing on the injured list May 30.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Lands on IL with hip injury
The Twins placed Buxton (hip) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.

He will be eligible to return at the beginning of the second half, but it's unclear whether Buxton will be ready to go at that time. Ryan Kreidler will likely see the lion's share of starts in center field for Minnesota while Buxton is shelved.
