Zach McKinstry RF | DET
Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Losing out on playing time
McKinstry is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
McKinstry will take a seat for the third day in a row, this time against a lefty starter (DJ Herz). Since he had previously been held out of the lineup versus righties Davis Martin and Sean Burke in the series against the White Sox over the weekend, the left-handed-hitting McKinstry looks like he could be losing his grip on a strong-side platoon role. McKinstry's drop in playing time comes while he's slashed just .088/.184/.147 through 13 games in September.

Roden collected a trio of hits, including a three-run blast to extend the Twins' lead to 8-0 in the seventh inning. The outfielder is batting .248 with a .759 OPS, 11 homers, 39 RBI, 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and nine stolen bases over 81 contests this season. Ramos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Ramos has four homers over his last 12 games dating back to Aug. 30. The outfielder is filling a part-time role, but he has been able to provide some power when in the lineup. Rays' Chandler Simpson: Swipes 46th bag in win
Simpson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Red Sox.
Simpson drove in two runs on a single and then stole second in the first inning. The 25-year-old has hit safely in seven of his past eight games, tallying seven RBI and five steals in that span. Trent Grisham CF | NYY
Yankees' Trent Grisham: Likely out for regular season
Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Grisham (hamstring) isn't expected to come off the injured list before the end of the regular season but could return for the playoffs, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
The veteran outfielder landed on the shelf in early September due to a hamstring strain, and it appears he won't be rejoining the active roster during the final week of the regular season. Grisham has a .703 OPS in 483 plate appearances this year and a .170/.261/.352 slash line in 45 games since the All-Star break, so he may not reclaim a starting role even if he's added to the postseason roster.
