Guardians' Chase DeLauter: Belts two-run homer in return

DeLauter went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run during the Guardians' 9-5 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

DeLauter was cleared to return to the lineup Wednesday after missing the four previous games due to a right wrist sprain. The rest paid off for the 24-year-old outfielder, who put the Guardians up early with a two-run homer off Shane Baz in the first inning. It was DeLauter's 14th home run of the season, and he has four multi-hit games over his last seven outings, going 12-for-27 with one steal, three RBI and seven extra-base hits in that span.

  • Dylan Beavers LF | BAL

Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Drives in three runs Wednesday

Beavers went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run scored during Wednesday's 9-5 win over Cleveland.

The three runs Beavers drove in came on two separate hits in the third frame in what was an eight-run inning for the Orioles. It was his first multi-RBI game since Aug. 25 against the Cardinals and matched a season high that he set Aug. 12 versus the Twins. Beavers has a .700 OPS with five steals, six home runs and 36 RBI over 304 plate appearances this season.

  • Henry Bolte CF | ATH

Athletics' Henry Bolte: Clubs homer No. 10

Bolte went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Blue Jays.

The rookie outfielder took Michael Lorenzen deep in the third inning to get the A's on the board, and it turned out to be the only offense his pitching staff would need. Bolte is surging to close out the season, with four of his 10 homers in the majors coming in the last eight games -- a stretch in which he's batting .379 (11-for-29) with a double, five steals, seven RBI and eight runs.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Held out again Wednesday

Caglianone (elbow) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Diamondbacks.

It marks the fourth consecutive start Caglianone has missed as he recovers from a left flexor strain. The Royals are idle Thursday, so Caglianone will aim to return to the lineup Friday in Boston. John Rave is covering right field for Kansas City on Wednesday.

  • Chase DeLauter RF | CLE

Guardians' Chase DeLauter: Returning to Cleveland lineup

DeLauter (wrist) will start in right field and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

DeLauter missed the previous four contests while battling a sprained right wrist, but he is feeling well enough to give it a go in Wednesday's series finale. The rookie outfielder is slashing .329/.404/.479 during the second half, though he's homered only twice in 40 games.

  • Lazaro Montes RF | SEA

Mariners' Lazaro Montes: Sitting again versus lefty

Montes is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Since his promotion, the left-handed-hitting Montes has now been held out of the lineup all four times the Mariners have faced a lefty hurler. He did deal with a minor hip injury during that time, as well, but it seems clear the rookie will be used on the strong side of a platoon. Montes clubbed his second big-league home run in Tuesday's game, and he's 4-for-18 with a 1:9 BB:K in his first six games in the majors.

  • Nathan Lukes RF | TOR

Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Day off against lefty

Lukes is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

With lefty Brady Basso making the start for the Athletics, Lukes will take a seat after starting each of the past nine contests. Brett Bateman will shift over to right field, with Myles Straw making the start in center. Lukes is hitting .343 with a .743 OPS across 35 plate appearances this month.

  • Wyatt Langford LF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Goes deep in win

Langford went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and one steal in Tuesday's 10-5 win over the Mariners.

The 24-year-old ended a 12-game power drought Tuesday with his two-run homer during the fifth inning. Langford batted .179 (7-for-39) during the homerless stretch, but he still showed a good eye at the plate with a 13:7 BB:K. Through 401 plate appearances this season, he has a .245/.332/.442 slash line with 16 long balls, 12 steals, 38 RBI and 57 runs scored.

  • John Rave RF | KC

Royals' John Rave: Blasts clutch homer

Rave went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-3 extra-innings loss to the Diamondbacks.

With the Royals down to their final out in the ninth inning, Rave clubbed a two-run homer to send the game to extra innings. The 28-year-old has seen his playing time tick up a bit of late with Jac Caglianone on the bench due to a Grade 1 left flexor strain. On the year, Rave is hitting .230/.306/.460 with five homers, 11 RBI, 19 runs and five stolen bases in 113 plate appearances.

  • Zach McKinstry RF | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Not in lineup Wednesday

McKinstry is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

McKinstry started the first two games of the series, but he'll grab a seat during Wednesday's matinee. The Tigers are going with Ben Malgeri in right field.
