  • Giants' Harrison Bader: Not yet close to returning

Bader (foot) is unlikely to be activated from the 10-day injured list until after the trade deadline, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.

Bader was cleared to resume running the bases at the beginning of the month, but the team hasn't provided much of an update since. Manager Tony Vitello stated Monday that Bader is progressing slowly, and he failed to provide an estimated timetable for the outfielder's return. The 32-year-old will presumably need to complete a rehab assignment in the minors before being activated.

  • Phillies' Bryan De La Cruz: Set for promotion Tuesday

The Phillies will recall De La Cruz from Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The Phillies are tentatively scheduled to face three left-handed starting pitchers this week, offering an opportunity for the club to throw the right-handed-swinging De La Cruz into the mix. De La Cruz was added to the 40-man roster earlier this month but has spent the entire season at Lehigh Valley, where he's slashed .269/.358/.448 with 12 home runs and a 44:74 BB:K.

  • Jose Fermin LF | STL

Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Exiting starting lineup

Fermin is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Fermin had started the last four and 13 of the past 14 contests, but he'll take a seat in Monday's series opener. Blaze Jordan will occupy third base for the Cardinals.

  • Luis Lara RF | MIL

Brewers' Luis Lara: Sitting again Monday

Lara is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Lara will remain on the bench for the second straight game, even after Milwaukee placed Sal Frelick (shoulder) on the injured list Sunday. Rather than Lara, the main beneficiary of Frelick's absence could be Andrew Vaughn. Jake Bauers will start at Frelick's spot in right field for the second day in a row to open up first base for Vaughn. Even though he may remain in more of a part-time role versus right-handed pitching, the switch-hitting Lara should be a regular part of the lineup when the Brewers face lefties.

  • Brewer Hicklen RF | ATL

    Braves' Brewer Hicklen: Sitting Monday

Hicklen is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Padres.

Since being promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett on July 11, Hicklen has started in Atlanta's last three matchups versus right-handed pitching, but he's sat the last two times the club has matched up against lefties. Eli White will get the nod in right field Monday, but both he and Hicklen will see their playing time tail off when Ronald Acuna (hamstring) potentially returns from the injured list later this week.

  • Daylen Lile LF | WAS

Nationals' Daylen Lile: Sitting versus southpaw

Lile is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Colorado.

The left-handed-hitting Lile plays against most lefties, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Rockies send southpaw Kyle Freeland to the hill. Andres Chaparro is picking up a start in Lile's stead.

  • Corbin Carroll RF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Held out of Arizona lineup

Carroll (elbow) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Carroll was lifted from Sunday's game against the Cardinals after suffering a hyperextended right elbow on a swing. He is considered day-to-day. Jorge Barrosa will take over in right field for the Diamondbacks while Carroll rests.

  • Jake Mangum CF | PIT

Pirates' Jake Mangum: Resting against lefty

Mangum is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

The switch-hitting Mangum has been much more effective against right-handers (104 wRC+) than lefties (83 wRC+) over his first two big-league seasons, so he'll hit the bench Monday while the Yankees send southpaw Ryan Weathers to the bump. With Mangum taking a seat, Billy Cook will receive the start in center field and will bat ninth.

  • Carson Benge RF | NYM

Mets' Carson Benge: Getting rare breather Monday

Benge is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Benge will sit for the first time since May 7 after going just 3-for-22 at the dish across his last six contests. The return of Luis Robert from the injured list has created a bit of a crowd in the Mets outfield, but Benge shouldn't be in any danger of losing out on significant reps.

  • Kyle Tucker RF | LAD

Dodgers' Kyle Tucker: Excluded from starting nine Monday

Tucker is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Tucker will head to the bench for the first time in the second half after he went 2-for-13 with two strikeouts in the Dodgers' three-game series against the Yankees over the weekend. Alex Call will draw the start in right field in place of Tucker, who has thus far maintained good health during his first season in Los Angeles but has produced a disappointing .702 OPS, by far the lowest mark of his career since his abbreviated 28-game rookie campaign with the Astros in 2018.
