Nationals' Andrew Pinckney: Optioned to Rochester
The Nationals optioned Pinckney to Triple-A Rochester after Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Pinckney was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored during his brief stint in the majors. Unless the Nationals need to replace an injured player down the stretch, the 25-year-old will most likely play out the rest of the season at Rochester.

Jonah Cox CF | SF
Giants' Jonah Cox: Busy on basepaths Wednesday
Cox went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.
The rookie outfielder had an impressive afternoon as the leadoff hitter for the Giants, and Cox is up to 13 steals in his first 53 big-league contests to go along with a .294/.333/.445 slash line, four homers, 13 RBI and 24 runs. Speed has always been his calling card -- he swiped more than 50 bags in both 2024 and 2025 in the minors -- but he's showing he can be more than a one-dimensional player at the top level.

Garrett Mitchell CF | MIL
Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Scratched with neck tightness
Mitchell was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Pirates due to left neck tightness.
With Mitchell out of the lineup, Luis Lara will start in center field and bat seventh for Wednesday's contest. Mitchell will undergo more tests to determine the severity of his neck injury and whether he'll be available for Thursday's series finale in Pittsburgh.

Jordan Lawlar CF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Lawlar is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Joshua Baez LF | STL
Cardinals' Joshua Baez: Exits game with side tightness
Baez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Giants after the ninth inning due to left side tightness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Baez popped out in the bottom of the eighth inning and was lifted from the contest before the game went to extras. The Cardinals are considering the outfielder day-to-day for the time being, but it's unclear whether he will be sent for medical imaging. Baez was hitless in four trips to the plate Wednesday before exiting.

Sal Frelick RF | MIL
Brewers' Sal Frelick: Sitting again versus righty
Frelick is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Pirates.
It's the third straight game that the left-handed-swinging Frelick has been out of the lineup, and all three of them have come against righties. Jake Bauers will cover right field, and Andrew Vaughn will be at first base for the Brewers.
-
Hector Rodriguez RF | CIN
Reds' Hector Rodriguez: Sitting out versus Snell
Rodriguez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers.
Rodriguez had made 19 straight starts, but the left-handed hitter will get a breather as the Dodgers send southpaw Blake Snell to the bump. The rookie outfielder is just 1-for-25 at the plate over his last seven contests. Juan Brito will cover right field for the Reds on Wednesday in what will be his first-ever start in the outfield in the majors.

Hernandez has reached base safely in 13 of his past 14 contests, slashing a robust .417/.517/.771 with four home runs, nine runs, 18 RBI and three stolen bases over that stretch. He had a quiet .706 OPS during the first half of the campaign, but since the All-Star break his OPS is at .842 across 51 games.
