Yankees' Spencer Jones: Homers after day off

Jones went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Jones sat out due to foot soreness Saturday, but he was back in the lineup Sunday. He had gone 1-for-19 with nine strikeouts over his previous four games. The outfielder is batting .248 with a .759 OPS, 11 homers, 39 RBI, 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and nine stolen bases over 81 contests this season. With Trent Grisham (hamstring) sidelined for the rest of the regular season, Jones has a clear path to starting in center field until the postseason.

  • Heliot Ramos RF | NYY

Yankees' Heliot Ramos: Smacks homer in loss

Ramos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Ramos has four homers over his last 12 games dating back to Aug. 30. The outfielder is filling a part-time role, but he has been able to provide some power when in the lineup. For the year, he's hitting .241 with a .714 OPS, 13 homers, 44 RBI, 45 runs scored, 19 doubles, three triples and four stolen bases over 106 contests between the Yankees and the Giants.

  • Andy Pages CF | LAD

Dodgers' Andy Pages: Expected to be activated Tuesday

Pages (hand) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Pages will make his return to the Dodgers after missing more than a month of action while recovering from surgery to address a left hand fracture. Once activated, Pages will likely take over as the Dodgers' everyday center fielder, pushing Tommy Edman back to second base and Alex Freeland into a bench role.

  • Samad Taylor LF | SD

Padres' Samad Taylor: Racks up three hits in win

Taylor went 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Marlins.

Taylor has four multi-hit efforts over his last five contests, a span in which he's also supplied seven RBI. The speedy outfielder has logged an extra-base hit in three of his last four contests. He continues to put bat to ball well, hitting .343 on the year with an .862 OPS, two home runs, four doubles, two triples, 18 RBI, 25 runs scored and 10 stolen bases across 159 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Matches last year's homer total

Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Marlins.

Tatis has homered five times over his last nine games. He's now at 25 homers this year, matching his total from the 2025 regular season. The outfielder is batting .285 with an .823 OPS, 36 stolen bases, 81 RBI, 94 runs scored, 30 doubles and three triples over 154 contests.

  • Jung Hoo Lee RF | SF

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Exits early Sunday

Lee (groin) exited Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers in the seventh inning, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Lee fouled a ball off his groin area earlier in the contest, and he was ultimately replaced by Drew Gilbert in the outfield prior to the beginning of the bottom of the seventh frame. Lee will likely undergo further evaluation, and he can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

  • Rays' Chandler Simpson: Swipes 46th bag in win

Simpson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Red Sox.

Simpson drove in two runs on a single and then stole second in the first inning. The 25-year-old has hit safely in seven of his past eight games, tallying seven RBI and five steals in that span. He is now tied with Nasim Nunez for the major-league lead with 46 stolen bases and ranks second in the American League with a .309 batting average while recording 38 RBI and 65 runs scored across 597 plate appearances this season.

  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Stays hot in easy win Sunday

Crow-Armstrong went 3-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Reds. He also stole a base.

The star outfielder is following up a scintillating August with a big final month of the regular season, as he's now sporting a .946 OPS with six stolen bases, seven home runs and 16 RBI across 18 September contests. Overall, Crow-Armstrong is up to 45 long balls and 38 steals, putting him within shouting distance of just the seventh 40-40 campaign in MLB history. If he swipes two bases and goes deep five more times in the final week, Crow-Armstrong will be just the second player in MLB history to reach 50 homers and 40 steals, joining Shohei Ohtani during his incredible 2024 campaign, when he was unanimously named National League MVP. Crow-Armstrong seems well on his way to taking home that award this year.

  • Seiya Suzuki RF | CHC

Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Blasts 25th home run Sunday

Suzuki went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Reds.

Suzuki was 0-for-4 with a strikeout until his final at-bat of the game in the eighth inning, when he crushed his 25th home run of the season. It was the talented outfielder's first long ball this month, and his overall total is the second highest of his MLB career, trailing only the 32 homers he hit in 151 regular-season games last year. Suzuki missed a little time to begin 2026 due to a right knee sprain suffered in the World Baseball Classic, but it's been another strong offensive campaign for the 32-year-old slugger.

  • Trent Grisham CF | NYY

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Likely out for regular season

Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Grisham (hamstring) isn't expected to come off the injured list before the end of the regular season but could return for the playoffs, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

The veteran outfielder landed on the shelf in early September due to a hamstring strain, and it appears he won't be rejoining the active roster during the final week of the regular season. Grisham has a .703 OPS in 483 plate appearances this year and a .170/.261/.352 slash line in 45 games since the All-Star break, so he may not reclaim a starting role even if he's added to the postseason roster.
