Emmanuel Rodriguez LF | MIN
Twins' Emmanuel Rodriguez: On bench Saturday
Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.
The 23-year-old prospect homered in his first career plate appearance Sept. 12, but he has gone 4-for-23 with 11 strikeouts in his last six games and is hitless with seven strikeouts in his last three. Rodriguez will get a chance to clear his head as Austin Martin starts in left field and Walker Jenkins mans center against southpaw Reid Detmers.

Griffin Conine RF | MIA
Marlins' Griffin Conine: Heading to bench Saturday
Conine is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.
Conine will get what looks like a rest day as Miami goes with Esteury Ruiz in right field, Kyle Stowers at first base and Agustin Ramirez at DH against right-hander Casey Mize. Conine's .820 OPS this season is tops on the Marlins, while his 16 homers rank third on the team.

Spencer Jones CF | NYY
Yankees' Spencer Jones: Battling foot soreness
Jones, who is out of the lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks, said he is dealing with a sore left foot/heel, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Jones didn't seem to be overly concerned about his foot, but the Yankees will err on the side of caution and give him the day off so he can recover. While he sits, Jose Caballero will patrol center field Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Spencer Jones CF | NYY
Yankees' Spencer Jones: Resting Saturday
Jones isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona.
Jones will get a day off after going just 1-for-19 with nine strikeouts over his last four games. Jose Caballero will take over as New York's center fielder and bat ninth.
-
Taylor Trammell CF | HOU
Astros' Taylor Trammell: On bench Saturday
Trammell isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Trammell will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts during the series opener Friday. LaMonte Wade will replace him as Houston's left fielder and bat ninth.

Jorge Barrosa LF | HOU
Astros' Jorge Barrosa: DFA'd by Astros
The Astros designated Barrosa for assignment Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After being claimed off waivers from Arizona on Sept. 6, Barrosa went 1-for-7 with two walks while appearing in four games for the Astros. He'll now be DFA'd for the second time in three weeks to create room on Houston's 40-man roster for Brice Matthews (knee), who returned from the 60-day IL on Saturday.
-
Brice Matthews CF | HOU
Astros' Brice Matthews: Activated from IL
The Astros reinstated Matthews (knee) from the 60-day injured list Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Matthews has missed the entire second half due to a left knee sprain, but he's now been cleared to return and aid the Astros in their push for a postseason appearance. The 24-year-old will almost certainly be limited to a bench role, however, as he owns a .582 OPS through 226 plate appearances this season and went just 1-for-24 with 12 strikeouts during his rehab assignment. Jorge Barrosa was DFA'd in a corresponding move.
-
Angel Martinez LF | CLE
Guardians' Angel Martinez: In Saturday's lineup
Martinez (side) will start in left field and bat fifth Saturday against the Athletics.
Martinez has missed each of Cleveland's last three games while dealing with a right side injury, but he now appears to have made a full recovery ahead of Saturday's contest. The 24-year-old has had a largely successful September thus far, slashing .268/.318/.537 with two homers, five RBI and seven runs scored over 44 plate appearances.
-
Jac Caglianone RF | KC
Royals' Jac Caglianone: Back in action Saturday
Caglianone (hand) will serve as the designated hitter and bat third Saturday against the Pirates.
Caglianone sat out Friday's contest due to a hand injury he suffered before the game, but he appears to be feeling well enough to fill a non-defensive role Saturday. The 23-year-old has been stuck in a cold spell this month, logging just four hits in September and none in his last five games.
-
TJ Friedl CF | CIN
Reds' TJ Friedl: Dispatched to Louisville
The Reds optioned Friedl to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.
Friedl has made just 11 plate appearances since the beginning of September, going 3-for-9 with two walks and an RBI. He'll now move off the active roster to make room for Oswaldo Cabrera, who was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on Friday.
