Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow during the final week of September, MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez has known for a few weeks that he would need Tommy John surgery after he was placed on the injured list Aug. 26, but he'll end up delaying the procedure for nearly a month, presumably because he was waiting for the inflammation in his elbow to subside. Assuming his surgery goes off without any complications, Rodriguez will face a 12-to-18-month recovery, which will keep him out for the entire 2026 campaign. Before suffering the injury, Rodriguez earned his first All-Star nod after submitting a 1.78 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 67:11 K:BB while collecting three wins, four saves and 13 holds over 50.2 innings this season.

Miller (elbow) completed a bullpen session at Oracle Park on Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Miller has been on the shelf since July 5 due to a left elbow sprain and incurred a setback in mid-August after making four rehab appearances for Triple-A Sacramento, but he's been able to resume his throwing program following a brief shutdown period. The southpaw still appears to have a chance at returning from the 60-day injured list before the end of the regular season, but due to the extensive time he's missed, the Giants may not be eager to deploy him in high-leverage spots right away while the team fights for a wild-card spot.

The Nationals recalled Ribalta from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.

Ribalta has absorbed the roster spot vacated by Cole Henry (back), who was placed on the 15-day injured ilst. The 27-year-old holds a 5.48 ERA and 21:15 K:BB across 21.1 innings out of the Nationals bullpen in 2025.

The Nationals placed Henry on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a back strain.

The injury will end Henry's season, but he should be fully recovered from the back issue early in the offseason. Henry became a high-leverage reliever for the Nationals this season, though that had more to do with the team's lack of other options rather than his performance. He finished with a 4.27 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 52:32 K:BB over 52.2 innings, picking up two saves and 10 holds along the way.

Tarnok (ankle) struck out one in a perfect inning in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Tarnok has missed most of September with a left ankle sprain but was cleared to return to game action over the weekend. He will be eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list Thursday, and the righty has a good chance to return that day.

Kittredge earned the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Rays, striking out three and walking one in a scoreless ninth inning.

Kittredge was brought in to protect a one-run lead and worked around a two-out walk to Yandy Diaz by fanning Junior Caminero to shut the door against his former team. It marked the right-hander's third straight outing with a save and extended his scoreless streak to eight appearances. The veteran reliever now owns five saves on the year while continuing to provide the Cubs with steady late-inning work.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Stewart (shoulder) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment this week, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Acquired from the Twins on July 31, Stewart made just four appearances for the Dodgers before landing on the injured list Aug. 12 due to right shoulder inflammation. He'll likely need to make at least a couple of rehab appearances in the minors before potentially slotting back into the Los Angeles bullpen during the final week of the regular season.

Backhus pitched a scoreless third of an inning, conceding a walk and a hit-by-pitch before collecting the save in Sunday's 6-4 victory over Minnesota.

Backhus entered in relief of Ryan Thompson to face the left-handed Kody Clemens with two outs and a runner on. The Arizona southpaw then walked Clemens and hit Luke Keaschall with a pitch to load the bases. Backhus finally completed his task by inducing a Matt Wallner flyout on his 13th pitch. The 27-year-old has pitched to a 4.62 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 22:8 K:BB across 25.1 total frames this season. Even with the Diamondbacks bullpen being a mess, Backhus is likely to remain in a middle-relief role.

Crismatt collected the win in Sunday's 6-4 victory at Minnesota, allowing two runs (both unearned) on three hits and no walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The Colombian righty generated a solid 12 whiffs out of his 83 total pitches, as he lowered his ERA from 3.24 to 2.70 with this appearance. Both unearned runs scored in the second when the Arizona defense produced two errors in a sloppy inning. In 30 total innings, Crismatt has been a surprisingly solid arm, pitching to a 3.85 FIP, 1.27 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB, providing great production for a depleted Diamondbacks staff. He currently projects to make his next start at home against the Phillies next weekend if he sticks in the rotation.

O'Brien picked up the save in Sunday's 3-1 win at Milwaukee, allowing one walk and no hits over a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

The 30-year-old worked around a two-out walk to collect his second save of the month. O'Brien, who fired 10 of his 16 total pitches for strikes, got the ninth after JoJo Romero pitched a scoreless frame in the eighth against the heart of the Brewers lineup. Although Romero is likely to draw the majority of save opportunities, St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol has shown no hesitation in employing O'Brien when the situation arises. The righty reliever now sports a 2.13 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB in 42.1 total innings.
