Sandoval (1-6) took the loss against Texas on Tuesday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out five.

Sandoval has continued to struggle through his brief tenure with the Red Sox. The southpaw has recorded just one quality start over his first 12 outings. The 29-year-old now owns a 4.99 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 62:29 K:BB through 57.2 innings this season. Sandoval is slated to make his next start Sunday against Tampa Bay.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Solid start in win

DeGrom (11-9) picked up the win over Boston on Tuesday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out eight.

DeGrom fanned at least seven batters for the fourth consecutive start by recording eight strikeouts Tuesday. The right-hander made just one mistake, giving up a two-run homer to Nick Sogard in the third inning. Despite the homer, the right-hander has yielded just four runs over his last four starts. This year, the 38-year-old owns a 3.79 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 194:39 K:BB over 154.1 innings. DeGrom is slated to make his next start Sunday against Toronto.

  • Bradley Hanner RP | NYY

Yankees' Bradley Hanner: Optioned to Triple-A

The Yankees optioned Hanner to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Hanner gave up four earned runs in just 1.1 innings during his lone outing after coming up from the minors Friday, and he'll now move back to Triple-A in preparation for Clarke Schmidt's (elbow) return from the injured list Wednesday. Hanner boasts a 2.44 ERA across 55.1 innings at Triple-A this season but has allowed seven earned runs in 5.1 frames with the Yankees.

  • Braydon Fisher RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Yields two walks as Tuesday's opener

Fisher allowed two walks while striking out one batter across 1.1 innings during the Blue Jays' 10-1 loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Fisher served as the Blue Jays' opener in Tuesday's bullpen game, and he was able to work his way out of back-to-back walks to start the first inning to keep the Tigers off the board. The 26-year-old right-hander has been a steady presence in Toronto's bullpen this season, sporting a 3.16 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, one save, 13 holds and a 73:40 K:BB over 74 innings.

  • Drew Anderson RP | DET

Tigers' Drew Anderson: Tosses five scoreless frames in Toronto

Anderson (5-6) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out four across five scoreless innings.

Tuesday was the first time this season that Anderson kept his opponent off the board while completing five innings. He was able to get out of a bases-loaded situation unscathed in the third frame, finishing his outing with seven whiffs and six groundouts on 88 pitches (58 strikes). It was Anderson's first win since July 23 and first victory since joining the rotation in early August. His start in Toronto might be his last of the regular season, but that largely depends on whether the Tigers activate Jack Flaherty (forearm) from the 15-day injured list during the final days of the regular season.

  • Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Drives in three runs Tuesday

Vargas went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and a two-run single during the White Sox's 7-6 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Vargas has collected five RBI over his last two games, and Tuesday's contest was the 10th time this season that he's driven in at least three runs. The 27-year-old third baseman is in the midst of a career year, ranking second in the American League in runs (98), sixth in home runs (31), eighth in OPS (.833) and 11th in RBI (84) across 658 plate appearances.

  • Chris Murphy RP | CHW

White Sox's Chris Murphy: Gives up two homers as opener

Murphy allowed three runs on two hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning during the White Sox's 7-6 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Murphy served as the White Sox's opener Tuesday for the third time this season, but he couldn't make it out of the first inning after giving up home runs to both Jo Adell and Travis Bazzana. It was the first time Murphy gave up multiple homers in an outing this season and his first instance since July 25, 2025, against the Dodgers, when he gave up three long balls. He now sits at a 4.68 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 32.2 innings this year, and it's unclear whether he'll be used as an opener over the final games of the regular season.

  • Cade Smith RP | CLE

Guardians' Cade Smith: Collects sixth win of 2026

Smith (6-1) was credited with the win against the White Sox on Tuesday, striking out one batter across 1.2 innings.

Smith got the call with one out in the eighth inning with the Guardians down 6-5. He needed only 16 pitches (12 strikes) to get through five batters, and he ended up collecting the win thanks to Brayan Rocchio's walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the ninth. Smith has come away with the win in three of his last five outings and sits at a 2.13 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 36 saves and a 96:22 K:BB over 67.2 innings this season.

  • Foster Griffin SP | CLE

Guardians' Foster Griffin: No-decision against South Siders

Griffin did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five across four innings.

Griffin kept the White Sox off the board until a Sam Antonacci RBI single in the fourth inning. The former was brought back out for the fifth but was quickly pulled after letting the first two batters he faced on base, one of which came home to score. Griffin ran up his pitch count to 83 (47 strikes), and it's his second consecutive outing in which he failed to complete at least five innings. In eight games since being acquired by the Guardians from the Nationals in August, Griffin has a 3-2 record with a 5.79 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 37.1 innings. He's lined up to take on the Red Sox on the road next week in what currently projects to be his penultimate start of the regular season.

  • Jo Adell RF | CLE

Guardians' Jo Adell: Cracks two-run homer Tuesday

Adell went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during the Guardians' 7-6 win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

In a crucial game for control of the AL Central division, Adell got the Guardians on the board early with a two-run homer off Chris Murphy in the first inning. Adell has gone deep in two of his last three outings and has reached base safely in seven of his last eight games, going 9-for-33 (.273) with six RBI, four extra-base hits and seven runs scored in that span.
