Cousins is in the process of finalizing a one-year contract with the Bucks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The four-time All-Star has been available on the open market since the start of the offseason, but he wasn't able to catch on anywhere in advance of training camp. However, with Milwaukee's frontcourt depth having been tested with Brook Lopez (back) sidelined since the season opener, Cousins will get at least a short-term look with the reigning NBA champions. Though he'll immediately become one of the most accomplished bench players in the league, Cousins hasn't proven to be an especially effective rotation player since tearing his ACL in August 2019. After sitting out the 2019-20 season, Cousins appeared in 41 games between the Rockets and Clippers in 2020-21, averaging 8.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 three-pointers in 17.4 minutes per contest while shooting an ugly 42.6 percent from the field. While Lopez is out indefinitely, the Bucks may envision Cousins filling a small role behind starting center Bobby Portis.
