Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said Friday that James (knee) didn't practice Friday and is considered day-to-day, but the coach is "hopeful" his star player will be available for Sunday's matchup against the Pelicans, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports.
Vogel added that the Lakers will practice again Saturday, but it'll be non-contact, so James' status will likely come down to a game-time decision Sunday. The star forward was sidelined for Wednesday's contest against the 76ers -- his first absence since March 7 -- due to lingering knee soreness and will have nearly a week off by the time Sunday rolls around. Regardless, if James is ruled out for a second straight game, Russell Westbrook and Malik Monk would likely be the primary beneficiaries.
