The Pistons assigned Palmer to the G League's Motor City Cruise on Monday.

Detroit's team-wide COVID-19 outbreak looks to be nearing its end, as does Palmer's time with the NBA squad. With the Pistons set to return as many as six players from the health and safety protocols ahead of Monday's game against the Bucks, Palmer wasn't likely to be active for the contest even if he hadn't been assigned to the G League. After signing a 10-day deal with Detroit on Dec. 28, Palmer made his NBA debut a day later in the Pistons' 94-85 loss to the Knicks, going scoreless with two rebounds and one steal over 17 minutes. He'll likely stick around with the Cruise once his 10-day deal expires this weekend.
