Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Higgins' leg injury is not serious, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Higgins half practiced Thursday then sat out Friday's session, which the head coach described as "just being smart." The five-year veteran, who has a working history with quarterback Baker Mayfield, doesn't need to play for a roster spot in Sunday's preseason finale. That leaves more reps for the promising rookie Demetric Felton and bubble guys KhaDarel Hodge, JoJo Natson and Davion Davis.
