Thompson led the Cardinals with 121 tackles in 17 contests during the 2021 campaign.
Thompson was one of three Arizona players (also, inside linebackers Jordan Hicks and Isaiah Simmons) to eclipse the century mark in tackles, and the third-year strong safety supplemented a career high in the category with seven pass defenses, three interceptions and three tackles for loss. With the benefit of 1,045 snaps between defense and special teams, Thompson also finished behind just one teammate on defense (Hicks with 1,077). Thompson has one year remaining on his rookie deal, so he has every incentive to continue racking up counting stats in 2022.
