Deion Jones: Unable to secure roster spot

Jones was released by the Panthers on Tuesday.

Jones inked a one-year deal with the team in July, but he won't get the opportunity to play out that contract. The veteran linebacker spent last season with the Browns after spending the first six seasons of his career in Atlanta and was working to earn a depth role in Carolina's linebacker corps.
