Panthers' Ikem Ekwonu: Doubtful for Week 1

Ekwonu (appendectomy) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's contest against the Jaguars.

The 2022 first-round pick upgraded to a limited session Friday after missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he's still unlikely to play in Week 1 after undergoing an emergency appendectomy in late August. Yosh Nijman will likely be the starter at left tackle until Ekwonu returns to full health.
