Jones (thumb) skated before practice Friday, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Jones has been out of action since Oct. 30 after blocking a shot against the Sabres. The timeline for Jones was 3-4 weeks, so he could seemingly be ready to return at any time over the next week. Jones has missed the last eight games after starting with four assists in eight games this season.
