Byron (hip) entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Wednesday.

Byron has yet to play this season after undergoing hip surgery in late July, so this development likely won't impact his near-term availability. If and when he's cleared to play, Byron should slot into a bottom-six role for the Canadiens.
