Dostal was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate, according to Ryan Boulding of NHL.com, and is projected to protect the road crease in Colorado on Friday.
Dostal will get his third start in four games as he has taken over the No. 1 job in Anaheim with John Gibson out of action after an appendectomy Sept. 25. Dostal is 2-0-0, giving up four goals on 60 shots. He will face the Avalanche, who have been reeling this season, starting the year with a 0-4-0 record despite scoring 13 goals.
