Lightning's Tyler Johnson: Clears waivers

Johnson went unclaimed off waivers Saturday, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports.

With no takers on Johnson's $5 million cap hit, the team has limited options going forward to clear cap space. At best, the Lightning can bury Johnson's contract in the minors which will generate $1.25 million in space and could convince Johnson to remove more teams on his no-trade list.
