Rust scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Rust has goals in consecutive contests since he returned from an upper-body injury. He was on the first line from the start of Friday's game, and that's likely where he'll spend the bulk of 2026-27. Rust has two goals, five shots on net, three blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over his two outings so far this season.
