  • Parker Kelly LW | COL

Avalanche's Parker Kelly: Pots goal in win

Kelly scored a goal, added six hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 3-2 win over the Jets.

Kelly ended a five-game slump with his tally. He has two goals over nine contests in December, but his chances on offense remain fairly limited from a fourth-line role. The 26-year-old defensive forward is up to seven goals, 13 points, 50 shots on net, 72 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 34 appearances. He needs just one more goal to match his career high from each of the last two campaigns.

  • Brent Burns D | COL

Avalanche's Brent Burns: Riding six-game point streak

Burns scored a goal and went plus-2 in Friday's 3-2 win over the Jets.

Burns opened the scoring at 9:45 of the first period with a shot through traffic that deflected in off a Jet. The 40-year-old defenseman is on a six-game point streak with two goals and four assists, as well as a plus-nine rating, in that span. He's at five goals, 19 points, 69 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and a plus-21 rating over 34 appearances, serving as an ideal depth blueliner in his first year with the Avalanche.

  • Martin Necas C | COL

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Finds twine Friday

Necas scored a goal on four shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Jets.

Necas had gone six games without a goal before tallying in the first period. He was limited to 16:57 of ice time after leaving the game briefly in the second period before returning for the third. The winger has just two goals over his last 15 outings, but he's been an elite playmaker with 19 helpers in that span. For the season, the 26-year-old has 15 goals, 46 points, 74 shots on net, 32 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-33 rating over 34 appearances.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Allows two goals in win

Wedgewood allowed two goals on 22 shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Jets.

Wedgewood has won his last two starts, allowing four goals on 51 shots in that span. After dealing with a back issue earlier in December, he's settled back into sharing the crease with Mackenzie Blackwood. Wedgewood is up to 15-1-4 on the year with a 2.11 GAA and a .920 save percentage through 22 starts. Both Avalanche goalies remain strong fantasy options due to win potential, and each should get one more start before the holiday break.

  • Blue Jackets' Mason Marchment: Flipped to Columbus

Marchment was traded to the Blue Jackets from the Kraken on Friday in exchange for a second-round and a fourth-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Marchment put up 13 points over 29 appearances in a brief stint with the Kraken. He was acquired from the Stars in June for a third-rounder and a fourth-rounder, so the Kraken were able to extract a little extra value out of the winger. In Columbus, Marchment will likely take on a middle-six role and power-play time, but he figures to be a streaky scorer. It's unclear if he'll be in the lineup Saturday versus the Ducks.

  • Stars' Brandon Gorzynski: Earns five points with new team

Gorzynski scored three goals and added two assists in WHL Prince Albert's 8-3 win over Kelowna on Friday.

Gorzynski was traded from WHL Calgary to Prince Albert on Monday, and he's already made a huge impact with six points over two games with his new team. The Raiders are competing for the top of the WHL's Eastern Conference, and adding Gorzynski, who has 35 points in 29 games, should be a big deal to help them keep pace. The Stars prospect should benefit greatly from being involved in a competitive playoff race, which will test his all-around skills.

  • Canadiens' Phillip Danault: Reuniting with Montreal

Danault (illness) was acquired by the Canadiens from the Kings on Friday in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick (originally belonging to Columbus).

Danault's slow start to the season with the Kings turned him into a trade candidate, and he'll be back with the Canadiens for a second stint. Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports Danault won't be able to suit up Saturday versus the Penguins, but he could be available for Sunday's rematch in Pittsburgh to close the home-and-home set. Through 30 games this season, he's earned just five assists with 42 shots on net and 22 hits. Danault has never been a strong goal-scorer, so fantasy managers should expect him to get just a slight bump in offense, likely in a middle-six role.

  • Isak Rosen RW | BUF

Sabres' Isak Rosen: Two goals in Friday's AHL win

Rosen scored twice in AHL Rochester's 3-2 overtime win over Belleville on Friday.

Rosen has three goals over two AHL games since he rejoined the Americans following his most recent NHL stint. The 22-year-old winger looks to be knocking on the door of becoming a regular for the Sabres. He's produced 12 goals and 10 assists in just 15 AHL outings this season.

  • Joona Koppanen LW | PIT

Penguins' Joona Koppanen: Earns three points Friday

Koppanen scored twice and added an assist in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-2 win over Utica on Friday.

Koppanen has four points over five games since returning to WBS after being waived by the Penguins. It's an improvement on his first stint in the minors this year, but the 27-year-old still has just six points through 11 outings in the AHL this year. The Finnish forward will need to show more to work his way back to the NHL later this season.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Set to miss time

Jarvis sustained an apparent upper-body injury in Friday's game versus the Panthers that head coach Rod Brind'Amour deemed "not good," and Jarvis is expected to miss some time, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.

Jarvis crashed into the post during overtime and appeared to be favoring his arm as he left the game. He had two assists in the contest and is now at 29 points through 34 appearances. This is a big loss for the Hurricanes, who don't have an extra forward on the roster. Fantasy managers will need to pivot to other options during Jarvis' absence.
