Syracuse commit Joe Girard III goes for 69, breaks New York Section II scoring mark
The Glens Falls guard makes 10 three-pointers en route to a career high and victory.

Another chapter was written into the illustrious high school athletic career of Joe Girard III on Friday night.
The senior guard broke a New York Section II single-game scoring record by going for 69 points, leading Glens Falls (Glens Falls, N.Y.) to a 98-83 victory over Schuylerville. According to the Daily Gazette, Girard, a Syracuse commit, broke the record of 67 points set by Rich Campoli in 1964.
Girard made 10 three-pointers, 11 two-point baskets and went 17-for-21 at the foul line.
The 6-foot-2 standout was named the state's Mr. Basketball last season while averaging better than 50 points per game. ...
