After 48 seasons, Wildcats leader steps down with 490 career wins.

After 48 years and 612 games, Phil Danaher, the winningest coach in Texas high school football history, has stepped down as head coach at Calallen (Corpus Christi, Texas).
Danaher, 73, announced his resignation on Monday and will officially step down as head coach and athletic director on Jan. 31, 2022, according to a report in the Caller Times.
A coach for 48 years at three different schools, Danaher spent the past 38 seasons at Calallen. He posted an overall record of 490-118-4 with 422 of those wins coming with the Wildcats.
The all-time wins leader in Texas, Danaher passed G.A. Moore, the previous record holder, in 2016. ...
